Grace has been an integral part of the COFTU journey since 2010. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the COFTU National Women Committee and as the Child Labour Focal Person at the COFTU Secretariat in Ntinda.

She holds a Master’s degree in Management Studies (Human Resource Management) from the Uganda Management Institute (UMI), a Bachelor’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education from Makerere University, and a Diploma in Secretarial Studies awarded by UNEB. With over 15 years of experience in trade unionism, Grace brings deep institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to workers’ and women’s rights.

Throughout her service, she has worked closely with women across COFTU and its affiliates, leading skills development and empowerment initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s independence and resilience. These initiatives include hands-on skills training such as thread bag weaving and beadwork, equipping women with practical livelihood skills. More recently, she contributed to the development of COFTU’s Gender Equality and Inclusion Policy and the Grievance Resolution Mechanism Policy for both COFTU and its affiliates. Each engagement reinforces her belief that women are not merely participants but powerful agents of change when given the right opportunities and support.

Grace believes that leadership goes beyond titles—it is about creating inclusive spaces where women can rise, thrive, and transform their lives and communities. This philosophy continues to guide her leadership at COFTU, where empowerment is practical, knowledge is shared, and no woman is left behind.
